The cotton spinning mill in Leipzig was a factory of textile production, today we know it as a place of art production. In such a place, we no longer encounter female factory workers. But they still exist on the site today.

Heidi Schmidt (former textile worker), Steffi Schminke (janitor) and Ramona Schacht (artist) invite you to a walk through the area.

Our aim is to get to know the (individual) stories together, which range from the textile production of the GDR at that time to today's art industry. The former (female) microcosm of the spinning mill represents the central reference point for contemporary questions about the current world of art and work.
