The diploma exhibition brings together a group of works that reflect on the study of painting itself and the process of creating a picture. The title refers loosely to the art-historical formula "The good Lord is in the detail", but shifts it in the direction of a challenging ambivalence. In a series of self-portraits, Eliane Diur examines how a "finished" painting develops from an initial sketch and what this process reveals about her own self-image as a painter.
