resonance ...  is an exploration into bespoke listening scenarios. Sound, scene and setting are being renegotiated throughout a series of Occasions, aiming to transcend preconceived modes of listening to and creation of sound. Each Occasion features musicians, performers and artists contributions, deeply intertwined with its locality, challenging cultures of acousmatic perception.

The inaugural event listens into the aurality of a fine art gallery: While intended to be a hyper host for artistic expression, enabling an audience’s exploration of aesthetic and intellectual merits through ever expanding curatorial means and concepts, its hospitality towards auditory bodies of work has been and still is inhibited by design of a visual predominant culture and lack of architectural vision beyond the “white cube”. Re/verbalizing a curatorial vocabulary of the auditory – reasoning with:in resonance  – reverberating impulse and intention – listening towards a poetry of the unintelligible  Transformed by the galleries natural acoustics and intentional off loudspeaker placement, audience and performers delve into an ever merging melt of sonic pluralism, joined in resonance AND REVERBERATION.

Layered Frequencies explores evolving harmonies and minimal rhythms, blending modular synth tones with the room’s reverb. As each sound merges with:in the space, listeners are guided through a subtle build-up, moving from quiet calm to a gently intensifying flow. (life concert on modular synth)
