The Academy of Fine Arts views inclusion and accessibility as an important task for the future and is aiming to reduce structural and communicative barriers for people with disabilities and chronic illness in all areas in order to meet the challenges of an inclusive education system. Through the inclusion action plan the Academy of Fine Arts has made a sustainable contribution to a non-discriminatory and inclusive further education landscape in Saxony which provides equal opportunities. The action plan has established the creation of conditions which makes it possible for all employees, students and guests at public events to enjoy equal participation, as a cross-sectional task in the structures, processes and in the culture of the academy. The requirements of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) form the initial considerations behind the action plan. The action plan is regarded as a dynamic instrument, which is to be regularly evaluated and reassessed.
