In his artistic practice, Fabian Lehmann takes a historical look at the development of technology. In his solo exhibition ‘Acceleration Strategies’, he focuses on technology’s relationship with speed and views it as a force that shapes thought, social relationships, power structures and world views.

In his sculptural works, he juxtaposes digital and analogue technologies through artefacts, remnants and 3D-printed reconstructions. In doing so, he emphasises the developmental process to which both belong. He questions whether ‘progress’ necessarily implies improvement, what is lost along the way, and who decides what is considered obsolete. He also examines how the role of human manual labour is shifting in collaboration with machines, and how technology is changing our relationship with the world.
