As part of the festival "Danger zones - racism (in)secures"

Sonja John is part of "Death in Custody". The alliance formed in September 2019 in response to the many unresolved deaths of Black people and People of Color in custody. Through research, documentation, and political activism, Death In Custody advocates for education, accountability, and responsibility for those killed in custody. In her workshop, Sonja John will present Death in Custody's documentation, focusing on "suicides," analyzing them intersectionally through group work, and problematizing common approaches to suicide prevention.

Trigger warning: Situations and structures of dying will be discussed - without happy endings.
