At this year's book fair, the HGB is presenting more than 30 new publications and current publication projects by students and lecturers, here is a selection:
The third issue of the HGB Magazine takes up questions about right-wing continuities at art academies in view of the current strengthening of right-wing extremist movements and presents the first results of research into the history of the HGB under National Socialism.
The publication unvereint/vereint will be published by Verlag Marian Arnd to coincide with the book fair. It documents the HGB project by Sven Bergelt, Juliane Jaschnow and Dieter Daniels with students on the post-reunification transformation, social cohesion and the negotiation of "we" identities in the field of tension between the culture of remembrance, protest and democracy.

This year's book fair stand was developed by a cross-class media art project group as part of the Artistic Action and Research class, supervised by Sven Bergelt. The setting consists of a walkable pavement, which invites visitors to browse and have a cornern, as well as exchange boxes as book displays. The stand thematises public space as a place for coming together, exchanging ideas and sharing in solidarity.
During the book fair, the HGB is represented with a variety of events at the fair itself, at the university and at other locations:

At the "Mensch und KI" forum at the book fair on 20 March, students and teachers from the HGB programme for the practice and theory of digital "(Un)Learning Digitalities" will be guests with the lecture performance ALUCINATIONS - Artistic Re-Appropriations of AI.
Traditionally, the independent publishing scene meets at the HGB on Book Fair Saturday 21 March for the Independent Publishing Fair: Under the title It's a Book, Money Low, Funny Though, this year's symposium for the fair brings together practitioners from the fields of publishing, distribution and collective organisation to reflect on economic conditions, self-organisation and the future of independent practice.
Under the title forms of publication, the open book society honours innovative, conceptual and experimental publication design in the print and digital sector as well as collaborative practices. Following the award ceremony on 20 March in the HGB Festsaal, the exhibition of the 18 shortlisted publications will open at the GfZK Leipzig.
