The current year of the "Museum Curators for Photography" scholarship programme of the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation is organising a symposium at the Museum Folkwang on the topic of 'Care in curatorial and photographic practice'.

What does care mean today and how is it implemented in the arts and culture sector? What structures and skills can we develop in the face of global crises and growing social tensions in order to shape our environment and society in a sustainable and collaborative way? Against this backdrop, the principle of care is increasingly coming into focus as a unifying, solidarity-building and responsible curatorial attitude. Various panels, lectures and a tour/workshop invite you to reflect together on care as a participatory practice of learning from one another.

Contributions from international curators, artists, researchers and mediators will open up different perspectives on the topic.

On Saturday from 12:00-13:30, HGB artists Susanne Keichel and Roxana Rios will talk with Aslı Özdemir about "Caring for Artistic Practice".
