tangle up is a multi-channel video installation based on observations of my surroundings and discussions during a workshop. It explores the paradox of masculinity and intimacy: while intermale physicality is accepted in sports and combat, in other contexts it is quickly associated with non-normative sexualities and thus excluded from homosocial, non-sexual spaces. tangle up attempts to make non-sexual desire and male closeness visible and to question their underlying dynamics.
