Omnia Salah Eldin Attia is an artist and researcher in the field of media art and digital sculpture from Cairo, Egypt, who will be a guest at the HGB Leipzig in June and July 2024 through a DAAD scholarship.

She works as an associate professor in the Department of Sculpture and Architectural Design at the Faculty of Applied Arts at Helwan University in Cairo. Her projects have different research perspectives, including women, Arab societies and the machinic control over consumer societies. Her practice is based on exploring the relationship between mass culture and media art. She usually presents her ideas in different media such as sculpture, spatial installation and digital sculpture. Since 2000, her work has been exhibited in many well known group and solo exhibitions in Egypt and international contexts. Her research focuses on media art, the aesthetics of digital art and the connections to traditional art, especially three-dimensional art.
