For the exhibition Silky Lights, the Zentrale für Kunst e.V. invited twelve students and visual artists from the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst (HGB) to show their works in the iconic Plagwitz Brückenloft. Some of the selected works evoke associations of light, shine and lightness, some reveal different nuances of textural materiality. Others suggest fragility, illusion and metamorphosis.
The viewer's impressions are reinforced by the special ambience of the exhibition venue. For the exhibition concept takes up thematically, on the one hand, the historical space as part of Sächsische Wollgarnfabrik, which produced yarn for more than 100 years. As a connecting corridor between the individual production buildings, it served only functional purposes. To this day, the Brückenloft appears mysterious from the outside, difficult to access, hardly anyone knows about its original purpose.
But a transformation has begun: The loft is transforming into a formidable place of aesthetics. It seems to float above the flowing White Elster. Permeated by constantly changing light, it is an unusual but fascinating place full of brightness and tranquility, but also exclusivity and grace.
For four days only, the Brückenloft will be transformed into an inviting space to view artistic works. On this rare occasion, paintings, installations, drawings, textile works and objects from Leipzig can be discovered.

There will be welcome drinks and a tasting offer from the Leipziger Spirituosenmanufaktur. From 18:30 DJane Maloua and from 20:00 DJ Qnete will perform in the loft.

12.06.22 (Sun): open 10-16 h | the bar stays openWe invite you to coffee, art and croissants from 10-14 o'clock. For the price of 8€ (payable on site) you will receive a combo of 1x vegan coffee drink and 1x vegan croissant from Black Spot Coffee. The bar will still be open here as well.
Important info:There is limited capacity in the room over all days, so you are only guaranteed entry with a ticket. You are welcome to drop by spontaneously in at all times and give it a try, but we can only let new visitors in when there is capacity. The location is not barrier-free.
