In the context of the for the time being last Wednesday Talk of the Support Office we talk with:
Johannes Listewnik, gallery director and
Katharina Immekus, co-owner and founding member of the gallery
of the gallery B2 from Leipzig.
Galerie_b2 is a gallery in which the artists themselves are the owners. In the meantime 18 years it has successfully established itself on the Spinnerei and shows a progressive and discourse-oriented exhibition program.
The form of organization: grassroots democracy, hierarchy-free, self-determined. We have the opportunity to get to know two people from the gallery business at once: Katharina Immekus is one of the people who co-founded the gallery and works as an artist and art professor. Johannes Listewnik is also an artist, but works for the B2 Gallery exclusively as a director.
How does the joint work at the interface between artistic content, artistic public and art market work? How do you do something like that? What kind of acceptance is there in the art world? How does the cooperation work within the gallery and also between the generations?
