Exhibitions on the 20th anniversary of Werner Tübke's death

To mark the 20th anniversary of Werner Tübke's death, various exhibitions are examining the Leipzig painter's oeuvre in 2024. He was rector of the HGB Leipzig from 1973 to 1976. The current “Focus” shelf in the HGB library is dedicated to the work of the painter and graphic artist. Tübke's former studio is opening its doors as the “Museum Tübke Atelier”. In the permanent exhibition, parts of the studio will be recreated using contemporary documents as Tübke left it in 2004 after his death. For the opening in May 2024, a special exhibition with the motif of the beach painting in Tübke's work will be shown. From July 13, the Panorama Museum in Bad Frankenhausen will be showing drawings and watercolors from Tübke's collection under the title “Beginning and End”. The exhibition “Tübke and Italy” can be seen at the Museum of Fine Arts until June 16. >>> To the Monopol Magazine interview with curator Frank Zöllner: “What does Werner Tübke have to say to us today, Mr. Zöllner?”
