Hanna Krüger: Listening to Silk / Der Seide Zuhören
The audio-visual installation examines silk as a global cultural phenomenon as well as a local product of a close human-animal relationship. In an interplay of artistic, creative and documentary perspectives, it questions human-centred perspectives and colonial history. The act of listening opens up the space for holistic perspectives and polyphonic narratives that reveal the multi-layered relationships and dependencies between animals, humans, the environment, politics and production.

Ephemeral and joyful, such living archives form the centrepiece of the project, which consists of a series of culinary interventions, sound performances and storytelling evenings. The focus is on forms of resistance, resilience, togetherness, tenderness and care - with the mouth as the central element, opening the project with a sound and culinary performance by Sōydivision.
