What income possibilities do I have? Tax office, social funds, insurances, work abroad, employment office, mixed calculations: What else do I have to reckon with?
2. the value of a handshake - workshop on the most important contracts
Prof. Dr. Stefan Hauptin conversation with Anna Schinzel, dresden|exist, Career Service of the HfBK Dresden
Wednesday, 28.9.22, 3 - 5:30 p.m.
Hybrid event, online participation possible.
It is common to seal projects, exhibitions and sales with a handshake. Just the other day, a gallery owner admitted in the Support Office talk that he had not signed a contract with any of the people he represented. That may be fine, as long as everything goes as planned and everyone is happy.
But what if things go differently - and suddenly there are very different views about what had been discussed. In this case, it is helpful to have a written agreement that sets out the crucial issues in advance in a legally secure manner. Gallery contract, exhibition contract, fee contract, contract for work ... how do I do it and what do I have to pay attention to? Prof. Dr. Stefan Haupt will go through the most important types of contracts with you using sample contracts and provide information about backgrounds and possibilities.
Prof. Dr. Stefan Haupt is honorary professor for copyright at the HGB Leipzig. You can learn everything about the important topic of copyright from him in the lecture series and in consultations.
3. lecture on artists' social insurance, insurances & retirement provisions
Jan KäpernickFriday, 30.9.2022 from 11 a.m. to approx. 2:30 p.m.
The Künstlersozialkasse provides artists and publicists with a form of health and pension insurance similar to that of employees. What does it mean? When and how can I join the KSK, and what are the benefits? Jan Käpernick gives a thematic overview of the KSK, the access requirements and the variants within the system.
Furthermore: How can I insure myself against occupational disability as an artist? Which insurances really make sense, and why? How do I combine them with institutional insurance? What should I keep my hands off? What about my old-age provision and what can I do about it - especially here there is a lot to discuss in view of the current financial crisis. After the lecture there will be time for questions and advice.
Jan Käpernick is an actor and regularly performs on stage. He is also a certified insurance specialist (IHK) and works as a broker in this field.
4. open office hours in the support office
Wednesday, 28.9., 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Room 001
The Support Office is the HGB's supplementary offer on the broad topic of professionalization, i.e. professional life after graduation. What is it actually? What can the support office do for me? Can I ask something about the topics of the week (yes!) Can I get involved in the support office (yes!) ? What does it look like there and who actually works there?
