Art institutions and especially art academies negotiate - implicitly or explicitly - questions about artistic and social practices. How does the discourse about the relevance of art translate into one’s own work? Is it useful to include current political topics in one’s own practice, and vice versa: what relevance does artistic practice unfold if it does not? What institutional power do art academies have as educational institutions with their specific historically materialized contexts?
