With her statement during the #Slutwalk protest march in New York in 2018, Samirah Raheem went viral. Bodies that deviate from heteronormative masculinity are apolitical issue. Still. And above all, more and more. They are an ongoing battlefield of exclusionand patriarchal power struggles.
Not a Playground is a curatorial invitation to local performers to actively appropriate an institutional space that is in transition between two exhibitions on (political) power relations and (female)identity. The immersive performance inscribes itself in this intermediate zone as a feminist negotiation of bodies and power in relation to space.
The performance will take place at Space01 / Kunsthaus Graz. It will also be streamed vialivestream on Instagram as a temporary hijacking of the digital toxic space.
