On Saturday 9 May, the joint Museum Night of the cities of Halle and Leipzig will once again take place. The HGB will once again be represented with a number of programme items:
The doors of the HGB Gallery will be open from 18:00 to 24:00 on 9 May, and the exhibition ECAL A Typographic Atlas will be on show for the last time. In collaboration with the Type Design class at the HGB Leipzig under Prof. Ondřej Báchor, the exhibition was conceived especially for the HGB Gallery and features student work from both ECAL and the HGB Leipzig.
Fashion design from Berlin, Halle (Saale), Weimar and London will also be presented as a freely choreographed production in the HGB Lichthof at 20:00 under the title "Schau, Mode".
An artist talk with Prof Heidi Specker and Pete Jones will take place at 20:00 at the Museum für Druckkunst Leipzig as part of the current exhibition "The World of Music on Banknotes. The exhibition of the banknote collection of the Giesecke+Devrient Foundation presents around 50 banknotes and invites you on a journey of discovery through sounds, cultural heritage and national identity.
