The research project "Digital Blackface: Racialized Affect Patterns of the Digital" by Junior Professor Dr. Katrin Köppert, Institute for Theory at the HGB Leipzig, and Dr. Simon Strick, Institute for Arts and Media at the University of Potsdam, has received funding from the Volkswagen Foundation. This makes the project one of the 12 selected research projects that prevailed over 130 other applications in a multi-stage application process. With the funding initiative "Aufbruch - New Research Spaces for the Humanities and Cultural Studies", the Volkswagen Foundation supports explorative cooperation projects that open up new research spaces in an original, unconventional way and explore research topics that are characterized by a particular complexity.
