As part of the promotion of female artists, Prof. Eugen Blume (jury chair) awarded the art prize of the Haus am Kleistpark to Bob Jones. The artist from the photography class of Prof. Tina Bara convinced the independent, five-member jury with her work "Cmd Shift 4".
In this installation of photography and video, Bob Jones addresses the acceleration and transformation of social encounters she has experienced in moments of pandemic isolation in digital space. In the process of transformation
between digital and analog, the artist's desire for authenticity in the encounter and in the medium manifests itself. In her broader work with artificial movement patterns, the uncontrollability of reproduction and manipulation of digital image data is witnessed.
The prize is endowed with 5,000 euros. There were a total of 141 applications.
The exhibition with the nominees' works ran until October 2 at the Haus am Kleistpark.
