That East and West may be united but have not converged has become increasingly apparent in recent years. The event offers insights into current research findings, from Chemnitz and across Germany, and seeks in dialogue with the audience to shed light both on the transformations since 1989 and on the current differences between East and West. Key topics will include: working environments and career biographies, youth and identities, experiences of devaluation, and attitudes toward democracy.
