stands for a specific spatial-performative intervention connecting the atrium and gallery of the HGB with a score of rehearsal-like events, teaching formats and events. Equipped with numerous tools that create a space for action, the radical receptionist combines the function of host with the mode of reception in a way expressed in the interrobang, the non-standard question-exclamation mark: "You, here‽".
The question-exclamation indifference alluded to in the title, which can be depicted as an active-passive one between service-oriented acting (by a person) and the sensual ability to accept (through understanding), forms the starting point for trying out new ways of relationships: The radical receptionist is inviting and mediating, not exhibiting but producing. Communicating, receiving and at the same time representing the sum of all the actants establishing the space—water dispenser, wall paint, lighting, plug & play station, communication media, mobile walls, etc.—that stimulate a special form of encounter and social togetherness. Such encounters take place between usually separate forms and formats of teaching and learning, with guests like Ana María Millán, Mindy Seu or Lerato Shadi between existing, separate (collective) initiatives, institutions and bodies. Along its open, expandable score, the radical receptionist invites us to intensify non-sovereign relations vis-à-vis supposedly established belongings.
The radical receptionist consists of many individuals, including Tobi Fabek, Fedele Friede, Anja Kaiser, Ilse Lafer, Isabel Lewis, Adrian Lück, Salome Lübke, Elisa Penth, Anne Speier, Hagen Tanneberger, Lissy Willberg ....
