Time stands still in Venice. Past eras are preserved in a cityscape that enraptures visitors. A painful vanitas communicates itself from every crack in the wall and lets beauty and transience become one. In the exhibition SERENISSIMA Jörg Ernert shows his latest series of works dedicated to the lagoon city. For the first time, he has thematically combined reproductions of classical Venetian vedute and his own motifs. The expressive coloring of the images and the out-of-time appearance of the city allows the past to emotionally merge with the present experience.
