Exhibition Yana Zschiedrich: HYBRIS as part of the exhibition ZUKÜNFTE

She demonstrates innovative ways of repurposing waste materials into art and building materials. She integrates mealworms as participatory elements in the creative process. This collaboration enables the transformation of expanded polystyrene into biodegradable materials that can be used in the construction industry as a sustainable alternative to sand. Yana Zschiedrich completed her Meisterschüler*innenstudium at the HGB in 2024.
The installation can be visited as part of the exhibition FUTURES, which has been on display at the GRASSI MAK since 21 November 2024 and will run until 25 August 2025. The exhibition is dedicated to visionary visions of the future and exciting scenarios that draw attention to the world of tomorrow. In the face of global challenges such as resource scarcity, the climate crisis and social and economic injustice, designers and artists ask crucial questions about the possible futures of our planet.
