Shifting Pleasures shows artistic works that make spatial and emotional gaps and ruptures visible. The exhibition asks what opportunities for pleasure, desire and ambivalence they promise.

We open with the first of three exhibition-chapters: Love&Autonomy. Here, artists combine speculative, documentary and performative approaches; they explore love and autonomy as organising forces of the social. Among the participating artists are Carla Maruscha Fellenz and Zhengke Sun, current students at the HGB, and Stefania Smolkina, former HGB student.

Shifting Pleasures is a project by Clarissa Aidar, Luise Arndt, Miriam Trostorf and Nela Kuhnová, curators from Germany, Brazil and the Czech Republic. At the invitation of Klub Solitaer e.V., we have embarked on a curatorial journey to Chemnitz.
