Marie-Luise Meister: Echoes and Future Whispering in Haunted Times
The exhibition space is staged as a living cosmos that emphasizes the blurry zones between human/non-human and technologically-generated worlds. Painting, sculpture, video and sound here are processes of approximation to a material and interstitial ecology that escapes capture, conveying momentary snapshots of fluid states that have already evolved into something else in the next moment. Digital processes such as self-trained neural networks combine with analog techniques to create immersive situations in which past and imagined future scenarios meet, overlap, and rupture.
