Identification, an exhibition by Angelika Waniek and Stefan Hurtig with eight international guest positions.

On the initiative of the Leipzig artists, who have known each other since the joint media art study in the class Intermedia under the direction of Prof. Alba D`Urbano at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig, the idea for an exhibition came into being in which they bring artists together who have crossed their professional path so far. In addition to presenting their own current work, Angelika Waniek and Stefan Hurtig have invited eight, some of them international guest positions with selected works. In the curatorial process, the term identification has turned out to be a catchword and a connecting staple. Each of the works shown deals with another facet of identification and highlights the process involved. This includes, for example, identification with media images, with culture, with one's own profession, with the past, with one generation, with history, with others or with gender.
