The Klasse für Performative Künste and Friends is a constellation of art students and professional artists engaged in a body-based research practice together with Prof. Isabel Lewis and with the support from Lissy Willberg. Together they work toward the development of new forms of aesthetic experience by experimenting with modes of presentation of performance. With a focus on the dramaturgy of live exhibitions, the class investigates multiple formats such as bars, listening sessions, workshops, performances in public space, and site-specific choreographies.
Based on work-in-process by Alicia Franzke, Harriet Meyer, Louise Schibli and Churi Potrykus, the class has developed a presentation for "Watch me work", which is framed by performative gestures in front of and inside the Leipzig City Library building.
