The Business Start-Up Week is the Support Office's compact seminar on all aspects of money and paperwork: What does it mean to be freelance and self-employed?
What comes after graduation? Within this week you can acquire the basic knowledge that will enable you to build up an independent existence. This applies to both freelance and applied forms of art and design. We will talk about everyday life as a self-employed person, all the terms and authorities you need to know, how it actually works with taxes and insurances and a solid project and cost planning.
I will actively accompany all events and have time for consultations before / after, should there still be questions. The language of instruction is German, of course we will try to bridge language barriers.

Monday 25.9. 10:00 Hartmut Meiler: Basic knowledge self-employment part 1:
In this seminar you will learn everything you need to know to work independently. Your own planning will be worked through. Current questions and plans can be brought in.
Personal requirements for self-employment: Which skills are (still) needed? / Forms of self-employment (freelance, GmbH, trade...) / Obligations and allies: tax office, social security, chambers: Who else do I have to deal with? 
Good planning: pricing, calculation, business plan: What are revenues, what are expenses? What are the costs? What needs to be covered? / Step by step to a good cost planning.

Deepening Good Planning: Income and Expenses, Project Management / Business Start-Up Funding, Start-up Capital: What are the Options? Writing invoices, sales tax, income tax

Repetition of the most important terms, open questions, practical example: What does an exhibition cost me? Cooperation with exhibition makers: What do I have to consider? Contracts / copyright - why are these important topics?

Thursday 13:00  Jan Käpernick: Workshop artists' social insurance and insurancesAbout the people:
Julia Brodauf is the head of the support office - she got into this position, among other things, because she herself has various experiences in the world of self-employment: Freelance as an artist and author, with a trade in a small publishing house, as project manager in a festival, in between employment, office and parenthood. 
Hartmut Meiler has a degree in business administration and has a wealth of experience as an entrepreneur, coach and project manager. As a lecturer, he teaches at various universities in the field of business start-ups and project management.
