OSTEN is a festival for art and mutual interest that will take place in Bitterfeld-Wolfen from July 1 to 17, 2022. The center is the Kulturpalast in Bitterfeld. From here, the festival explores and celebrates OSTEN (East) as a landscape of change for people, nature and coexistence. OSTEN will be a rendezvous with history, the future and other unknowns. WELCOME TO BITTERFELD!
The festival OSTEN is a meeting place. Next to and in the Kulturpalast an ATELIER FOR MUTUAL INTEREST will be created. It does not resurrect the circles of the "Bitterfeld way", but draws new circles. Art as an occasion to discover, to act, to get in contact, to stay. The protagonists of the festival are people from Bitterfeld-Wolfen and from further away. But the main protagonists are also the places: Wolfen, Bitterfeld, Greppin, the Goitzsche Lake and the Chemical Park as a biotope for insects, work and history. How does the art of change feel? What does it sound like? And what activity is meant when we talk about EAST? In many different formats of coming together we try to find out.
