in part by way of joint responsibility with the social network operators listed below.

As part of utilisation of our services by users in the social networks listed below, we would like to point out that users’ personal data may also be processed by the operators of the social networks outside the European Union and outside the European Economic Area. This may result in potential risks for users, for example asserting data protection rights may be hampered. However, at the same time, we would like to point out that all the stated US providers, which are certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield, have undertaken to comply with European data protection regulations.

Furthermore, we would like to point out that users’ personal data are usually also processed by the operators of the social networks for their own market research and advertising purposes. Any usage profiles generated from usage behaviour may also be used to display interest-based advertisements outside the social networks. To that end, the operators of the social networks usually place cookies on users’ computers so that device information, usage behaviour and interests of users can be processed, including if a user does not have a profile in the respective network. For more information about this and potential objection options, please refer to the data protection policies and further information of the respective operators of social networks, which we have linked for you below.

Furthermore, the following applies to the processing of personal data:

Data subjects: Users of our social media services

Processed data categories: Fundamental data (e.g. names), contact data (e.g. e-mail addresses), content data (e.g. text input), usage data (e.g. interest in content) and meta and communication data (e.g. device information and IP addresses).

Purpose and legal basis of processing: Data are processed, insofar as this is subject to our responsibility, for the purposes of furnishing information, communication, marketing and range measurement.

The legal basis for rendering the social media services is Article 6(1), p. 1, point (e), GDPR.

Storage period: The data categories we process are stored solely within the respective social network. In most cases, we exert no influence on the specific storage period because this is determined by the providers of social networks. Information in this respect can be found in the data protection policy of the respective provider. Insofar as we can influence the storage period in individual cases, the data are erased after the purpose has been honoured in compliance with the statutory retention obligations.

Furthermore, every data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority in accordance with Article 77, GDPR, in the event of suspicion of unlawful processing of personal data.

With regard to asserting data subject rights, we would like to point out that to bring about comprehensive measures, these should ideally be addressed directly to the respective operator of the social network. Only the operators have access to all the users’ collected personal data, and can accordingly provide more comprehensive information and adopt any measures. If you require assistance in this regard, you can of course contact our data protection officer at any time.
