Typography, Cinematography - Already etymologically, reference is made to the methodological affiliation of both techniques. In ancient Greek γράφειν (gráphein) means "write, draw". Writing thus, production of text, production of meaning, here from writing as a sign, there from movement as a sign. Referring to this connection Astruc found the expression "caméra-stylo": "The author writes with his camera, as a writer writes with a pen." Also the style has its word origin therefore. Poetics is the name of a doctrine of poetry, of poetry.

Poetika Cinema, a poetics of cinema, would then be the study of the production of meaning from movements, or even a cinema that reflects its own formal conditionality. The six-part series of this semester is devoted to color. It aims to analyze the possible uses of color in film based on different methodological positions in auteur cinema. A view of film as a symbolic structure inevitably leads this inter-media discussion to the question of the methodical use of color in one's own visual practice.
