Around the theme of water, this interdisciplinary exhibition brings together twenty different contributions from art, design, architecture and science together. The works explore how water makes us rethink and how the river could transform the city. As part of the three-week programme (01.09-17.09), the SpreeBerlin initiative of Symbiotic Lab invites the citizens of Berlin to reflect on the social-ecological relationships of the river, as well as its diverse relationships to the city and its human and non-human inhabitants.
To stimulate a rich dialogue, there will be a diverse, free accompanying programme, with readings, performances, a survey, guided tours and city walks. The starting point of the exhibition is the urban design SpreeVision - Osthafen. With the help of an AR experience, the design shows the scenario of a socially and ecologically upgraded Spree in the section of the Osthafen basin. The project, which is sponsored by Ecosia (All in for Berlin), is based on an extensive study and the long-standing commitment of several Berlin actors who are committed to a healthy Spree and a liveable Berlin. It
was initiated by Jakob Kukula, Jan Colomer & Ralf Steeg.
The non-profit project is based at NetzwerkStadtRaumKultur e.V. and is developed by Symbiotic Lab.
The exhibition is curated by Symbiotic Lab and german artist Leon Billerbeck.
