We are strangers, almost everywhere in the world, and yet at home in this one world. Changes of place widen the spaces of experience and are able to sharpen our view of where we come from and where we have arrived. Artists have their own ways of dealing with these situations and communicating their insights.
Kunststation Kleinsassen invites six artists from the Near and Middle East to the exhibition "Blickwechsel", to reveal their points of view in painting, sculpture, photography, video and installation. In their countries of origin they have (Iraq, Iran, Israel, Palestine, Syria) come to Germany, among other things, for further studies or have fled violence and war. They all carry the rich traditions of their countries of origin. Elements of this, their own experiences and new perspectives flow into each other in their art.
Both the geometrically designed, sculptural works of Tareq Alghamian and the expressive, largely abstract paintings of Musafer Qassim reflect the artists' extremely eventful lives and their search for a new balance. Tamim Sibai remembers specific people, but in the painting process, color choice and application gain a strong momentum of their own. Nasrin Abu Baker wistfully and unusually combines materials with which she became familiar in her family. Mojgan Razzaghi impressively stages the beauty of women and their strength to assert and develop themselves even under the most adverse circumstances in her photographs. Sharon Paz deals with borders as a synonym for the clash between strategies of security and the experience of bondage in a video projection. The interesting art positions offer many suggestions - also for a change of perspective.
Opening: 15:00 o' clock
