AtA students and prospective AtA students receive individual counselling on social, personal and economic issues. Individual counselling is free of charge and takes place in a protected environment. It can be provided in English or German.
What we advise on
- Questions about the right of residence in Germany
- Access to AtA studies and transition to diploma studies (initial orientation and referral to the relevant offices in the HGB)
- Communication with authorities, health insurance companies, landlords - advice on application procedures and legal options for dealing with outstanding payments
- Jobbing in addition to your studies - types of jobs, social security contributions and work permits
- Health insurance
- Advice on financing through BAföG or scholarships
- Advice on residing in Leipzig (e.g. information about finding a room or flat, paying a deposit, contacting the property management or landlords)
- Counselling on social benefits (requirements, application e.g. for housing benefit, child benefit, Jobcenter ALG II)
- Counselling and orientation in difficult life situations
- Advice on studying with children
- Advice on studying with a chronic disease or impairment
