Hold Hands is an online residency program that sees itself as an experimental space and platform for exchange about contemporary art practices. The project is characterized by inviting artists who do not primarily work digitally. The participating artists are challenged to situate their practice in virtual space, to explore it and to build a bridge between analog and digital formats. The residency program will take place from 01.04 to 30.04.2021 and will end in June 2021 with a group exhibition.

During the residency, the Hold Hands website serves as a space and communication tool between the residency participants and the public. The website contains a questionnaire that can be populated by the residents as well as visitors. Using text, images, video and audio, the resident artists can respond to the public's questions. In this way, a working and exhibition space is created that is intended to stimulate a collective discourse and promote the questioning of artistic as well as theoretical methodology. The aim is to map the development of the works and to create a safe environment that allows the artists to make their work processes publicly accessible.
