Through themes like hauntings and possession she explored marginalization and societal pressures in Victorian England. Prince Alberic and the Snake Lady is a short fairy tale that was published in 1896. The story follows a lonely young prince who falls in love with a medieval tapestry and the half-snake woman that is depicted on it.
