HGB Gallery
Parallel to and as a complementary contribution to DOK Leipzig, the festival paradoks operates at the intersection of art and the moving image and is dedicated to documentary formats beyond the conventional cinema. Along the thematic clusters EMPOWERMENT and VISUAL ANTHROPOLOGY, the makers present ten outstanding positions at three different venues.
At the invitation of Ilse Lafer, director of the HGB gallery, the festival will also take place for the first time at the HGB, where it will open on Saturday 23 October at 6 pm. This will be followed by guided tours of the exhibitions at the HGB and the gfzk. At 8:30 pm the performance CONJURING by Ben Russell can be seen in the WERKSCHAU Hall 12 on the Spinnerei.
At the Artist Talk on Monday, 25.10. at 5 pm, Bárbara Wagner and Benjamin de Burca will present their film "RISE" in the HGB Galerie. The Brazilian-German artist duo represented Brazil at the 58th Venice Biennal 2019. In "RISE", they investigate methods of community based empowerment. More...
