The Getty Art History Information Program contains four different Online-Databases for art historical research.
Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals:
Eine umfassende Auflistung von Zeitschriftenaufsätzen zur Architekturgestaltung, Geschichte und Praxis der Architektur, Landschaftsarchitektur, Denkmalpflege, Innenraumgestaltung und Stadtplanung, der etwa 133.000 Einträge aus dem Zeitraum von 1977-1992 enthält.
Das Repertorium ist für die Jahrgänge 1975-1989 online recherchierbar. Es enthält weltweite Literatur von der Spätantike bis heute und umfaßt etwa 135.000 Einträge. Leider sind die Resultate der Literaturrecherche auf maximal 200 Titel begrenzt, so daß man nie ganz sicher sein kann, ob man wirklich einen vollständigen Überblick erhalten hat. Man kann die Suchbegriffe aber manchmal so kombinieren, daß man in mehreren Suchabfragen die gesamte erfasste Literatur ausdrucken kann.
Er enthält Informationen über britische Auktionskataloge und deren Inhalt aus den Jahren 1801-1825. die Datenbank stellt ein gemeinsames Projekt zwischen der National Gallery in Washington, D.C.; dem Mellon Centre in London and der Frick Art Reference Library in New York. Er teilt sich in einen Index Sale Catalogues und Sale Contents.
Diese Datenbank listet eine allgemeine Beschreibung von 2812 Kunstverkäufen in Großbritannien auf sowie eine Liste, in welchen Bibliotheken Exemplare der Autionskataloge verfügbar sind.
Hier ist das Augenmerk auf die Gemälde gerichtet, die in den Auktionen verkauft wurden. Der Index kann nach Künstler, Titel des Bildes, Kaufer, Verkäufer, Preis usw. durchsucht werden und enthält 173 637 Einträge. Es entstehen bei einer Benutzung über Internet keinerlei Kosten für die Recherche.
